My name is Alliedwolf…. While I was exploring the newly discovered planet Hephaestus I was injured and had to flee. I wanted to try and get a sample of the substance that is consuming the planet. From a distance, it looks like an ocean of lava, but a closer investigation revealed that it is a wall of what can only be described as death. Everything that is touching the substance is black and everything within 12 feet is dying, the effects seem to progressively get worse the closer to the substance.
I set up monitoring equipment and started to try and take a sample on a small island bordering the wall when it expanded engulfing my left hand and instantly consuming the equipment in front of me. My wrist cauterize instantly and fused with the edge of my suit. I manage to make it back to my ship before blacking out. The autopilot recognized the distress and got me to a medical facility. Unfortunately, I failed to log my location and am now in search of this planet. After analyzing the initial readings I took from my landings the substances appear to be biological. Anyone who comes across this message please track down and investigate this planet.
My gut tells me that this is big.
Planet Details:
Mainly Ocean
Lava seems to consume 40 percent of the planet, possibly more.
Clear skies when I arrived, noticed that very few islands scattered throughout the ocean and seemed to be almost perfect circles.
Approach unidentified substance with caution, do not assume it is stagnant.
I will continue my search, please broadcast if you find and I will check in at the-hub
