Dear Andrew,
If you're reading this letter, I fear that my worst fears have come true.
When we left, you were just a boy. Maybe you're a man now, or maybe your mother is the one receiving this. If that's the case, I hope she has the heart to share it with you someday.
When we left, it never crossed my mind that I might not return. I've always come back, and there's no reason this time should have been different.
I still don't know exactly what happened; you probably know more about it than me at this point since I'm sure that the Warp Squad disappearance was all over the news...
We're...somewhere. I still don't know where. Something strange happened when we arrived on-site, and to be honest I'm still not sure I've wrapped my head around it. All I know is that I'm going to fight like hell to get back to you.
I love you and your mother so much. I'm going to do everything in my power, in OUR power, to get back to you all.
I'm so proud of you, and I can't wait to hold you in my arms again someday.
Signing off...
Dad
